Joanna Pacitti Background information Born October 06, 1984 (age 22) Origin Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Genre(s) Pop/Rock Years active 2001–present Label(s) Geffen/Interscope (2001-present) Website Joanna-Music.com Joanna Pacitti (born October 6, 1984 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American pop/rock singer and actress. Also known as Joanna. Biography
Early life & career beginningPacitti was born on October 6, 1984 to Stella and Joseph Pacitti; she is of Italian and Irish descent. At the age of 5, she began singing to the customers in her father's barber shop. Her mother enrolled her in dance classes, and she began competing in local talent and dance competitions. When she was 11 years old, she was chosen to star in the 20th Anniversary revival of the musical Annie after entering a contest sponsored by the department store Macy's. Pacitti starred in 106 performances with the National Tour, obtaining rave reviews and vast press coverage. Two weeks before the show was to land on Broadway, she became ill with bronchitis. She returned to find she had been replaced by her understudy. When the decision was announced to the public, there was shock and disbelief. Andrea McArdle, who was the original Broadway Annie, made her opinion clear by publicly boycotting the show and remarking that "clearly talent was not a factor in this decision, it was crazy adults acting desperately." The firing became national news and generated a great deal of publicity. Some believe this was the intention of the producers who made the decision. Yet, Pacitti and her representatives can share in the credit or blame for the widespread publicity as the performer willingly appeared for interviews on ABC World News Tonight, Good Morning America, American Journal and Turning Point, to name a few broadcast programs, and employed a "public relations strategist" to book publicity opportunities with publications and television shows. In response to the firing, a lawsuit seeking $10 million to $50 million in punitive damages was filed on behalf of Pacitti. The matter ended up being settled out of court, and the terms were not disclosed. Music ActAt the age of 16, she has been signed to a contract by A&M Records president Ron Fair, the man who discovered household names such as Christina Aguilera and Vanessa Carlton. She appeared in some soundtracks, including the Legally Blonde soundtrack in 2001 and in a five track promotional CD released with Mattel's My Scene - Chelsea Spring Break (Series 2), called "My Scene -Chelsea Mix." In 2002, the Taiwanese girl group S.H.E made a cover of her song "Watch Me Shine." In 2003, she was the subject of an MTV "True Life" documentary in which they followed the first year of a recording artist. In May 2006, her first single, "Let It Slide," was released under Geffen Records and went to radio at the end of June. Her debut album, This Crazy Life was released on August 15th. In 2006, she toured with Sheryl Crow and later joined to Teen People's Rock'n'Shop Tour in July. Currently she is touring with Nick Lachey on his "Save What's Left of Me" tour. Very interesting. Ok after a little research I read the New York Times Article about the Slumber Party Girls, and it does say in there that Stef is dating Ron. However, whether it its is true or not we do not know, nor do I think anyone here will get either of them to tell us, so take this for what its worth.

Everyone has differing thoughts about the subject. People feel strongly both ways. So, thank you for your opinion(s) Mav.

It probably could be a PR move. A very unintelligible one. However, it would explain my theory as to why WO's site was conveniently yanked(either by choice or by force) a couple weeks prior to the release of "The Dutchess". I could be over-reaching, but why pull the plug on the site now? After all this time of it being up? Why just a few weeks before the release? On their site they did have Stacy's image(s) on the site in the "About" videos. Could it be that Interscope didn't want to have that running interference with it's newly solo artist? Or the site could have been yanked because that's what Stef and Renée wanted. They probably thought the message board would be inundated with posts about "The Dutchess". I can see why that could have led them to yank the site. Especially, with it being a message board for them and not so much for Stacy. I do not understand the lack of mention when it comes to Stefanie and especially Renée. Stefanie and Renée were there for her in her darkest hour. I really hope that they're still there. Friends like those are hard to come by nowadays. It would be ashame to lose them. This is probably going to sound naive-do you think the PR dept of Interscope has some part in the omission of Wild Orchid? I guess in their eyes WO does not fit the image their trying to market. Stacy always says that she likes to be honest, well, she should be honest about her past group. Stefanie and Renee are not some manufactured Barbies she met on a reality show, they're true friends (they tried to intervene concerning her drug use). As I fan of WO and the music of BEP, I find her dishonesty insulting. I need to stop typing b/c I'm getting seriously pissed

Stef and Ron...as a couple?!..Oh my damn! Since Stefanie hasn't advertised as to what happened to her marriage, neither will I.
I am totally with you about Stacy and her "forgetfulness" about Wild Orchid. I do understand that she has moved on from that, but to just plain ignore it and act like it never happened really gets on my nerves. What she went through with Wild Orchid has prepared her for what she is doing now. Wild Orchid was her foundation. She's built upon that since then, and rightfully so. However, she would be wise not to step on those who helped her on the way up, because she will need them as a mattress on the way down. I'm not saying that is what she has done, it's just a piece of friendly advice.

I haven't purchased the album yet. However, from those who have and who are her dearest fans, I hear it's great.

I can't wait until Rosie O'Donnell takes over Meredith's chair on The View in the Fall. With Star and Rosie already not buddy, buddy, I can just imagine the tension so thick even a machete couldn't cut through it!

I totally agree. I think it should have focused more on her life. I guess she probably thought people already know about her and her life that she opted not to showcase that.

It's premieres on the Logo channel tonight @10 pm. I've seen it on MTV already, but, just in case those of you who are interested and would like to see it, try to catch tonight on the Logo channel.

Hmmm, well, I'm not sure as to the new Fall line-up on the top network channels, but, I am most definitely looking forward to the new season of "Nip/Tuck". I absolutely love that show. I also like watching, "Weeds", and "Medium". I'm all about fashion, food, and sex, so, everything else from FoodNetwork to the new show "Desire", I'm pretty much a fan of!...lol
I can never really get into the wedding shows, because the brides piss me off. I didn't have a care in the world on my wedding day. I hired a wedding planner who carried out my wishes perfectly. She did an amazing job and definitely reaped the rewards afterwards with a hefty paycheck par moi.

I watched the first season of Flavor of Love and I was horrified! Why on earth would these women want to be "courted" by Flava Flav again is beyond me! God, he is so ugly! Ugh! It's a guilty pleasure for me because on one hand I can't stomach his face, but, on the other hand seeing these women compete for his affection is hilariously screwy!

I'm loving Laura as well. As far as I'm concerned, the whole show could be about her!
