I'm just back from the show right now. The show was at Midnight. It was 21 and over, which means the crowd was a bit rowdy and drunk. The turnout was predominantly white college-age kids. It was sold out and I was expecting them to be late, but at 12:15am, the lights went down and Will, Taboo, Apl and Stacy took the stage. She wore a baby blue warm-up suit and baseball cap with black crop top underneath. The show was fantastic. Stacy owned that crowd. They opened with "The Boogie That Be" and by the time Stacy got to her solo, the whole place went crazy. By the 3rd song, Will made the announcement that it was "Fergie's Birthday". The entire crowd sang 'Happy Birthday' to her before she launched into a killer version of "Fly Away". It was very sweet. The concert on the whole was a whole different experience from listening to BEP studio albums. The (Incredible) band gave an entirely new life to each of the songs. They featured mostly "Elephunk" tracks, but the musical styles were all over the place from jazz to rock to hip-hop. They did cover songs from The Beastie Boys "No Sleep Til Brooklyn" (Changed to L.A.) to AC/DC "Back In Black". I'd seen Stacy live with Wild Orchid, but she took it to heights unheard with this show. The guys were terrific as well, but I rarely took my eyes off Stacy. My business partner was with me tonight (and during the WO concert) and she agreed that Stacy was spitting fire through the mic. She tore into "Shut Up", "Let's Get Retarded" and a new song where she belted a high note for what seemed like 5 minutes. The encores were "Hey Mama" and "Where Is The Love". No Justin appearence but trust me, the peas needed NO help to rule that stage tonight. It surpassed every expectation-classic! ;D
