LOL! I had a nice Thanksgiving, but, this year was the most memorable one. Last week my daughter and I were watching a documentary on television about turkeys. It was showing the turkeys in their habit. How they live, how they protect their babies et al. It was an interesting documentary.
So, fast forward to Thanksgiving day. There I was preparing the turkey, doing all the things you normally would do to a turkey. So, quite a few hours later the turkey was done. I took it out of the oven set it on the dinner table and felt sick to my stomach! After watching that documentary about my soon to be Thanksgiving dinner, I suddenly had an attack of conscious about eating this 22 pound turkey on my table!
There it was 22 pounds of cooked turkey carcass on my beautifully decorated table. Friends and family were gathered around the dinner table salivating over the turkey, while I was feeling very ill just by the mere sight of it on my dinner table. I finally told everyone that I could not eat my own turkey that I had prepared.
There is something very wrong about seeing my food alive before I eat it and then seeing it's carcass on dinner table!...lol So, I did not eat turkey on Thanksgiving. Although, I did eat some other deliciously prepared foods Even with my sudden attack of conscious about not eating turkey I had a great Thanksgiving.
