What are your thoughts on "Hypnotic."? Just wondering because it seems that no one agrees with me and I don't understand it.
"Wild Orchid" is my absolute favorite album of all time. The songs are fun and some are really deep and the messages in all the songs are wonderful. The Soulful and dynamic harmonies are so amazing! I never get enough of hearing the album. ...I didn't know what to expect on Hypnotic. When I got the CD, I listened and thought I wasted my money. Because they went from voices like Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey..down to voices like Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.....meaning not a good voice at all. I think the lyrics aren't as good as they used to write and they went from R&B & Dance to electronical pop. I'm really not feelin it. I still love WILD ORCHID...because they're first album is timeless. I really think that in a year or two that Stacy should rejoin Stefanie and Rene for a reunion album. I would be the first to get that album!!
I didn't like HYPNOTIC and instead of Stefanie trying to do a solo album and Rene trying to find "her" sound and make an album they should do another WO album and make it good this time.
What are your thoughts about the album?

Well, I liked it. Both Stefanie and Renee have been quoted saying that they wanted "Hypnotic" to be totally different from what they've done in the past. This was their first CD without Stacy and without a big label pulling the strings in the background. I think it's great that they were able to release a CD without giving up their artistic freedom. They were free to record anything that they wanted. They threw caution to the wind while releasing Hypnotic. I'm sure they knew that not everybody was going to like it, but they released it anyway. Change is good sometimes. Stefanie and Renee need to be able to grow artistically. Experimenting with different sounds is apart of that. I don't think that they want to lose fans over it, but instead hope that their fans will understand that there is so much more to them artistically than just what the fans have become accustomed to. I think it's great that they have little side projects going on. It makes them all the more intriguing. I'm sure there are going to be more WO cds to come, so, maybe you'll like those better. P.S. Welcome to the board!

Truthfully, it took me a while to get used to the new stuff. It took some time to grow on me, but ultimately I found "Hypnotic" to be more fun than most of the other stuff. I too prefer the more urban sound of their 1st album, but I think tearing paint off the walls with your vocals can get a bit boring. I far prefer "Hypnotic" to "Oxygen" in terms of song writing. I think the hooks are really hot. I think "My Lover", "It's On" and "Hypnotic" are stand out tracks. Give em' some time. If history is any indication, the girls will continue to change and expand their sound some more. I thank you for honesty and being open-minded enough to buy the new album and give it a try. Welcome.

Hypnotic i think is really a chick cd. I think the songs are catchy and the beats are hot. But it seems more like a girlly album. I'm not dissin on them. Its just, you wont caught me or probably any other guy playing the Hypnotic cd in their cars. The girls will think we're gay lol. But other then that, its a great album to come back with. It's just not my kinda music tho.
Wild Orchid is my favorite album also. I love that soulful r&b they had back then. Even without Stacy i think they could make that album again.
Oxygen was okay. Now that i listen to Be Mine, it's kinda corny lol. But the rest of the album is awesome. To many ballads tho.
Fire was the best record WO made as a trio. That album woulda made it BIG! Its ashame. The music was incredible. The beat, amazing. Lyrics, amazing. Vocals, amazing.
