I think this whole "War on Christmas" debate is ridiculous. I don't mind hearing "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" (I think holiday tree is stupid, but that's for another conversation). Today a customer told my manager that he was doing some Christmas shopping and quickly covered his mouth changing it to "holiday shopping." A few hours later I'm reading a letters-to-the-editor post from a woman who refuses to shop at stores that do not "acknowledge" Christmas. I think this so-called war comes from people with nothing better to do in life. If you don't celebrate Christmas, fine, don't celebrate. If you do, fine, celebrate Christmas, Christmas will be Christmas whether or not a store says "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"

I'm a "Merry Christmas" kind of gal. Jesus is the reason for the season, so, I say "Merry Christmas". And if others are offended by that, then, oh well. I don't really care.

I think it's silly to get offended by something like a common holiday greeting. It's one thing to say "Merry Christmas" to a stranger, quite another to scream at them, while pinning them up against a wall demanding that they declare that Jesus Christ is their lord and personal savior. Some people act like it's the same thing.
I've been chastized by enough people that I now say absolutely nothing when strangers around me sneeze. But I will gladly respond to "Happy" anything.
