I think we need to coment something about Fergie's album. My favourite songs are Clumsy, Wake Up, Here I Come and Big girls don'r Cry, but all the album is amazing. Can't wait for the next single. What do you think?

I haven't purchased the album yet. However, from those who have and who are her dearest fans, I hear it's great.

It takes me a long time to get to know a new album, hence the delay on my official opinion of "The Dutchess". As always, my opinions are just that...
The great: I'm very moved by the lyrics to the song "Glamorous". I think it really conveys the gratitude that Stacy feels for getting what so few people in her industry get (a second chance that leads to outrageous success) and her determination to live for today and never forget who she is.
"Voodoo Doll", while a bit over the top, is also a startlingly personal account of a dark time in her past. It takes a lot courage to put yourself out there like this.
"Pedistal" is a fierce response to the haters. I love the lyrics and how she demands that you can't say nuthin' til you walk in her shoes and reminds her detractors who have been so viscious to her ever since she rose to fame that she is an actual person with feelings.
The good: I really actually like "London Bridge" and "Fergalicious". I think they're fun, infectious party songs and putting them out there 1st was a wise decision to really play to BEP's audience. "Here I Come" would be another great 'Party song'. It wouldn't surprise me if that became a single at some point. I rock out to all of these in the car with much gusto.
"Big Girls Don't Cry" is a great pop song with a killer hook, but it's the track I think most disrrupts the flow of the album. I feel similiarly about "Finally": Gorgeous song, beautiful medley and her delivery is spot-on, but it feels completely out of place on this record.
Which segues nicely to...
The Bad: Overall my problem with "The Dutchess" (aside from the title, which I still hate, LOL) is there is no cohesiveness to it. It's a collection of songs (all of which I like), but there's no flow to it. I love that Stacy can do several different styles, but there's no signature to her sound. The best albums take you on a journey, like a story. It has a beginning, middle and end. This does not, which is a disappointment.
I know Stacy's been collecting songs for years to someday be on her debut solo project. I do hope that for her next album, she can keep a more even keel and present a complete package.
