Why hasn't Wild Orchid released "Hypnotic" to the stores? And why hasn't there been a single or video from the album. Wasn't their talk of a video for "All The Way" and "Hypnotic?"
I know that Yellow Brick Records is an independent label, but so is Hanson's 3cg Records. Hanson runs 3cd Records and they've released their album to all stores and they have released one single and video from their new album.
I thought a good idea would be to release both ALL THE WAY and HYPNOTIC... ALL THE WAY would go to pop radio and Mtv and HYPNOTIC would be put out to urban r&b radio and Bet. Then they could release a final single as IT'S ON.
Why does the WILD ORCHID official site have a link to click to TRL? Anyone know?

All this falls under the blanket of distribution. Many artists who go the indie route find it's a tough road. Not only because you're financing everything yourself, but you're also doing the grunt work (booking your own concerts and such). It's very likely that a limited number of copies of "Hypnotic" were pressed to keep costs down. Most major record stores require you to ship a certain number of copies (or "units") so they can be sold. If a minimum number cannot be met, you won't find them everywhere. Aside from the politics (most major lables are in bed with major distributers, who cater to major music store chains, ect...), indie releases are generally not given top priority, as there is less money for third parties to be made because the majority of the profit goes to the artist, where it rightfully belongs. But that just ain't the way the game is played unfortunately.
As far as videos go. Any MTV-style video on the cheap will run hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's possible plans were underway for a video for "All The Way", but I'm sure lack of funds stalled the project.
Hanson made an awful lot of money in their heyday. If they invested properly and have good management, it's likely that they had the resources to ship their CD and get a video made. Wild Orchid just didn't have the same numbers. I'm sure the girls are putting every ounce of time, money and effort into their solo projects right now. Wild Orchid, if they even exist as a group anymore, has definitely been put aside for now. We'll see.
