I've read in several interviews that in 2001, Stacy had her nervous breakdown, stopped using crystal meth, and decided to leave Wild Orchid. However, she still went on tour with Wild Orchid in spring-summer 2001 to support the release of the single "Stuttering" and the upcoming album release of Fire, which of course never happened. She said in interviews that she only did concerts with Wild Orchid in 2001 to fulfill her contractual obligation, but had already decided to leave. So here's my question - did Stacy's decision to leave Wild Orchid have anything to do with the Fire album release being cancelled, and the group being dropped from RCA Records? Did RCA just decide that since the lead singer of Wild Orchid was going to leave the group anyway, why bother promoting the single or releasing the album? But what if Stuttering had been a huge hit (like it should've been), and RCA decided to release Fire after all? What if the ALBUM itself became a huge hit? Do you think Stacy would've left the group anyway, or forced to stay in the group by contract?
